How to Embed Links in WordPress.
So you have a Website or blog, and you are an Affiliate, so you need to embed some Affiliate Links into WordPress.
This can be pretty confusing, I know that I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to embed Affiliate Links when I first started; so without a lot of talk; let's get into this.
First, let's go over the easiest links to embed: Text Links.
Let's say for example you would like to turn some text into a clickable link. All that you need to do is choose the text you'd like to link, highlight it, and then click the little chain icon shown in the picture above. You'll be taken to this screen:
Notice that in the 'URL' section, I've typed in "http://example.com", Below there is a check box that gives you the option to have the link open in a new window (this means people can click the link and visit it without having to leave your site or blog).
Click 'Add Link' and you're set. Your text will now be a clickable link.
Now onto something a bit more annoying, adding banner links.
The first thing you're going to want to do is choose your banner, for this example I'll be adding a HostGator banner to my page.
Notice in the picture above, that I have 'Visual' and 'Text' Highlighted. In order to embed our banner, we're going to have to go from 'Visual' Mode, to 'Text' or html mode. Click the 'Text' box, and you'll be taken here:
You'll notice that in Text mode, there are a lot of weird characters, and code; but for our purposes let's disregard that. Find an open space where you'd like your banner to be, and paste it's link into the page. Once you've pasted your banner, simply click back to 'Visual' mode and viola!
You now have a clickable banner link, and can send viewers and readers to your affiliates.
A quick note about banner links:
Some banners can not be viewed by folks who use AdBlock programs. If your banners aren't showing up, try disabling your AdBlock software and refreshing the page.
I hope this has helped new Affiliate Marketers and Bloggers to learn how to monetize their blogs or websites.
Cheers,
